Fake Feminist’s Illusion

The basic idea of feminism is to promote equality... shocker, right?!
Of late, I’ve seen a lot of speculation over whether feminism is the same concept as misogyny, just in favour of women. It’s really not. They already have a term for that - it’s called sexism. Sexism is the discrimination between gender, it could be against anyone. To put that in context for the readers, when you refer to a male who is crossdressing as a shemale, that’s sexism. The same goes to when you label a girl with really short hair, a tomboy.
Furthermore, when you see so-called “extreme feminists" or "feminazis” put down men as a way to liberate women, that’s actually promoting an environment just as unfair as typically patriarchal societies today. So again, these people aren’t extreme feminists, or feminists even. They’re basically just like all the sexist men out there. It’s extremely contradictory to the concept of liberation or feminism.
This will seem silly, but it needs to be said to really put in perspective what I’m talking about for a blank millennial - the ‘How Can She Slap’ trend was actually a perfect example of equality, in the dumbest sense. Here, a guy slaps a girl back after she slaps him, which is ridiculous, however, also a presentation of equality. Again, this doesn’t mean we start slapping each other and end up oppressing everyone. Don’t be provoked by this example, it’s a more accurate projection of equality than belittling men (or women) on twitter .
I would like to conclude this article by also explaining how yes, girls are victims of slut shaming very regularly, but they aren’t the only ones. It goes without saying that women have been on the wrong side of the stigma that comes with sexual freedom and that needs to change. Yet, when you call a guy a ‘f*ckboy,’ that’s literally the exact same thing.
My point is, when you preach about the fact that women should have the same sexual freedom as men, you’re completely right, but you need to apply that to men as well. It’s pretty ironic that you forget the meaning of 'equal' while you’re standing up for it.
