Home's Destroyed

See the reality of the environment around us through this short poem written by Venya Khokher.

Heavy haze and thick smoke,
they cloud our eyes from the truth.
we all wish, we had sooner, awoke.
we have done nothing but use our brute
The dry crumbling grass, once green was our berth
the time has come to stop this, we can't just recline.
to not let anyone harm the earth
we should unite and not just whine
Nature gave us warnings a plenty
Tsunamis, earthquakes and acid rain.
Then, why didn't we try and stop this calamity.
We are the ones to blame, now we must suffer the pain.
how have we let our home be destroyed,
first it was the greenery, then the water, not far behind was the air.
with these resources, should not have been toyed.
soon we will all be clawing at our throats and our hair,
we need to figure out why none of us had given a damn.
we ravaged the world like starving wolves around a piece of ham.
