In most of our dictionaries, white is a symbol of the union of two people through marriage. However culturally, white is seen as the colour representing death and funerals. How can colonisation and westernisation affect us so deeply that cultural norms and beliefs have been lost under the layers of colonial oppression. Yet, we still strive to serve the oppressor.
