Religions have become a symbol of hope in which the cycle of life rests. The world though divided into many religions and ethnic groups, they all try to work together towards one sustainable goal. Unfortunately in Islam, there is one specific law which is danger to Human Rights today. It is called Sharia law.
According to Reuters, this law was adopted in 7th Century where barbaric acts prevailed. It allowed brutal flogging, honour killing, keeping slaves and beheading in issues which we today look at it as nettlesome problems. But today laws like these do not have a place in the world. Every individual's rights must be entertained and one must take full advantage of it. One should be given the liberty to live where they want, go where they want, love whoever they like and marry someone of different casts. Unfortunately, this law bans all of the above and the punishment get more heinous.
According to this nefarious law, if a woman is found to be in relationship with a boy of different ethnic group, she is killed by stoning. This is called honour killing and is prevalent in most of the underdeveloped nations which follow Islam. The boy is left unhurt and is again given the right to choose the girl of his choice. In a world of equality opposition like Sharia prevail.
A small thievery results in beheading and not wearing burqua results in hanging. This law is widely used among the extremists group like Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram to name a few who focus on implementing Sharia law in the world. Reuters have confirmed that Boko Haram had once tried to implement the evil relics of Sharia law in the areas of Nigeria which were under their control. It is ironic that in Arabic it means path to watering hole or salvation but during the course of many years, it has now turned into path towards living hell. Many people want proper guidelines on which Sharia law could be monitored but it cannot be removed permanently . It is a badge of culture for the Islam followers and a sudden removal can cause global chaos. Countries like Saudi Arabia who strictly used to follow Sharia law, have now started to give some leverage to the people owning to the fact that it does not stand right anymore in this world. Thus Sharia law cannot be removed but can be little moderated as it has been for so many years by different ethnic groups by the leaders of the Islam community. A separate league should be formed which would safeguard the rights of women as well as stick to their year long tradition. This league if formed would make sure to have a perfect blend of modern as well as ancient traditions going hand in hand which would be universally accepted by all followers of Islam. This would not only benefit the women belonging to the lower sections of the society but also will help in curbing extremists influence in developing nations. Islamic extremists group print duplicate Quran which have ideologies of self service and outright wars. With the help of these books, they spread their ideas and influence the youth. If a league of Sharia law is set up, they would make some necessary changes to which all people would agree and spread the true teaching of Islam. Like this the people in developing nations would understand the ideology difference and would embrace nothing but the truth. This would drastically decrease the enrolment of cadets in these groups and fighting them would get much easier. It is unarguable that religion has now become one of the driving forces in the world. Religion is what guides people and faith is what glues them together. It was made for providing support but can also be converted to a dangerous weapon. Thus reforms in laws like these must be included in order to maintain peace and prevent global chaos from rising again.
